RV Garages & Metal Shops Built Around Your Rig

Tall clearances, wide roll-up doors, workshop bays — engineered for Class A motorhomes, 5th wheels, and toy haulers across the Southwest.

Your RV Deserves A Serious Home

A standard storage unit doesn't cut it.

Your RV represents a serious investment — often $100,000 to $500,000 or more. Leaving it exposed to the Southwest's UV intensity, extreme heat, and dust storms accelerates wear on seals, paint, and mechanical systems. A proper metal garage pays for itself in protection alone.

Full Metal Buildings designs private RV garages and personal shops built specifically around your rig, your tools, and the way you use the space. We engineer for tall clearances — 14 to 20+ ft eave heights — with wide roll-up or bi-fold door openings that accommodate Class A motorhomes, fifth wheels, and toy haulers.

Every RV garage we build is engineered to local code, delivered with permit-ready drawings, and finished to a standard well beyond a basic metal box.

FAQ

Common Questions

Most Class A motorhomes require a minimum 13'6" door opening height. We recommend a 14–16 ft eave height with a 14 ft door opening to give comfortable clearance with room for roof-mounted AC units and antennas. For slide-outs, add 2–3 ft of width to your bay.

A standard 5th wheel is 8'6" wide. We recommend a minimum 14 ft wide bay for comfortable entry and exit, with 16–20 ft if you want to work around the sides of the trailer. A 40×60 building gives you the rig bay plus a small workshop area.

Absolutely. We regularly design combination RV garage and workshop buildings — a wide bay for the rig on one side, a dedicated workshop with workbenches, tool storage, and 220V outlets on the other. This is one of our most popular configurations.

Yes. We work with residential and rural property owners throughout Nevada, Arizona, Utah, California, and New Mexico. We handle the permit documentation for your local jurisdiction and can advise on setback and zoning requirements.

Most RV garage packages ship within 8–12 weeks of approved drawings. Erection time is typically 1–3 weeks depending on size and crew. Total timeline from contract to move-in is typically 4–6 months including permitting.

A basic 40×60 RV garage building package typically starts around $35,000–$55,000. Total project cost including foundation, electrical, and erection varies by site and configuration. Contact us for a free estimate based on your specific needs.
