Aircraft Hangars Engineered For Clear-Span Access
Wide bays, tall bi-fold door openings, and aviation-grade construction for private pilots, FBOs, and charter operators.
Overview
Built Around Your Aircraft. Engineered To Airport Standards.
An aircraft hangar is one of the most demanding metal building applications — and one we know well. We design around your aircraft, your door system, and your airport's specific requirements. That means wide clear-span bays, bi-fold or hydraulic door openings up to 60 ft, proper drainage slopes, and tie-down anchor systems.
Full Metal Buildings has supplied hangars for private pilots, flight schools, FBOs, charter operators, and municipal airports across Nevada, Arizona, Utah, California, and New Mexico. We understand the coordination required with airport authorities and deliver permit-ready packages that satisfy both local building departments and FAA advisory circulars.
Whether you're housing a single Cessna or a fleet of business jets, we engineer the structure to fit the aircraft — not the other way around.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What size hangar do I need for a Cessna 172?
A Cessna 172 has a 36 ft wingspan. We recommend a minimum 40×40 hangar with a 38 ft wide door opening for comfortable single-aircraft storage. Add 10–15 ft of depth if you want a workbench or parts storage area.
Can you build at a public airport?
Yes. We have experience coordinating with airport authorities and delivering permit packages that satisfy both local building departments and airport lease requirements. Contact us early in the process — airport projects have longer lead times.
What door system do you recommend for a private hangar?
For most private hangars, a bi-fold door offers the best combination of opening width, reliability, and cost. Hydraulic doors are excellent for larger openings or high-cycle commercial applications.
Do you build T-hangars?
Yes. We design and supply T-hangar units for airports and private airparks. T-hangar configurations maximize ramp space and are popular for flight schools and multi-aircraft storage facilities.
